High-oil black sunflower seeds which are popular with blue tits, great tits, greenfinches, and chaffinches to name but a few.
Black sunflower seeds are excellent for use in bird feeders as they are free-flowing and prevent clogging in the tube. Sunflower seeds are full of essential natural oils which wild birds love. As they retain their outer husks they are suitable for birds which are able to strip them in order to access the inner hearts. Sparrows, tits, finches etc will love them. A good no-hassle way to feed your garden birds.

Sarah Griffiths I mix a number of the seed mixes, along with these, together and fill the ground feeder, and there's never anything left by the different varieties of birds that visit my garden every day. I know they enjoy it because if I'm late in taking it out to them at breakfast time each day, the pigeons will walk up to my kitchen door to let me know, and when I take it out to them and shake the tub of seed, my darling Mr Blackbird will hop straight down and begin eating with there with me! That's why I never try any other brands! Thank you for making my birdies and squirrels very happy! ☺️🙏

It's A Workout, But Definitely Worth The Reward
Black Sunflower Seeds have a tough exterior husk surrounding the nutritious oil-packed seed inside. Most birds first must remove this husk to eat the seed inside. For Finches, with their strong beaks adapted to break seed shells with ease, this is no issue and with little effort get to the Sunflower Heart inside. However, for the Tit family its quite a lot more work. Without the strong beaks like the Finches they must first hammer the Black Sunflower Seed with their sharp beak, breaking the husk to get to the seed inside. It's a good workout and the reason you never see a Blue Tit at your local gym, but it's well worth the high energy reward inside.
